The Monster Returns !!!!!

Tony got some video of "The unidentified wildlife form in the pond" last night.

According to my records it was first seen by Marie and Joan in late April, but last night was the first time there was any video of it.

If you know what this life form is please let us know.

On the evening walk last night we had the opportunity to meet Luis' wife, Cherry, and their little 11 month baby daughter, Yuisa. They hope to be regular Wednesday evening walkers. Saturday mornings 7:15 AM walks are just to early for them to get the baby ready in time to be on the trail with us. They walk from their apartment home to the trail. I don't remember exactly how far the the walk to the trail from the apartment is They walk along the sidewalk on Lumsden to get to the trail. Luis and Bob work together at URS and Bob was the one who recruited these new Nameless Walking Members. Thank you, Bob!!!

The Nameless Walking Group of Brandon, FL has walked over 1250 miles toward our goal of "2008 Miles in 2008". That is an amazing amount of dedication by this group. We should be very proud of our accomplishment. We are over half way to our goal and we have 7 months left in the year. We will make our goal with "No Sweat"! Well, I think now that the warmer temperatures are here, there will be lots of members sweating to make our 2008 goal. I hope that some of our missing members will be walking with us again soon.

We meet at the Brandon Mall Food Court Entrance by the pay phones for the Wednesday Afternoon Walk at 3:30 PM.

Here is the mileage update as of Friday, May 9th, 2008

Joan walked to Route 60 on Thursday evening with Banjo. Dale joined them and went to the round about. That is a total of 5.1 miles.

Year-to-Date Total = 1105.9 miles

Miles to go to hit "2008 miles in 2008" - 902.1 miles

Gary and Bob will be taking pictures and recording the mileage on tomorrow. Tony and I have to be at the Car Show at 7:30 AM to take pictures of the 100 or more classic cars that will be there, tomorrow. We did lots of preparation today and are tired. We have to be up by 5:00 AM in order to have breakfast and to get to the show on time.

May 7 2008 Walkers

Here are the stats from the 5/7/2008 walk -
Attendees were -Mary M.,Tony, Bob, Gary, Bonnie P., Dot, Marie, Kathie, Joshua, Christine, Deborah, and Joan who arrived early and left early not in the photo.

Joan walked to Route 60 on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for a total of 6.2 miles

Mary and Bonnie F. walked at the mall on Wednesday afternoon. We did 3 loops, which must be more than a mile per loop, but we will count it as a total of 6 miles. We took pictures of each other after we finished.

The two miles in the evening were - Dot, Kathie, Joshua and Bonnie P. for a total of 8 miles
Marie, Deborah, Mary M., Christine, Tony, Bob and Gary went all the way to Route 60 - 3.1 miles each = 21.7 miles
Grand Total = 41.9 miles close to a record
Year-to-Date Total = 1100.8 miles

We had a nice crowd at the walk last night. Dot was thrilled to get an honorary Nameless Walking Group T-shirt. Bonnie P. was back from the cruise and she said it was fun.. She is off again on Friday to one of her fishing Tournaments. Mary and Tony are off to Jacksonville on Thursday for the Classic Car Show this weekend. Deborah is off to Chicago to a wedding this weekend. One of Christine's dogie's has had three little puppies, so she is busy taking care of all of them.

There will be another mall walk on Wednesday, May 14th at 3:30 PM. Christine hopes to be able to join Bonnie F. and Mary there at the Food Court Entrance.

There was an adjustment for the May 3, 2008 mileage to 1032.7 due to an over estimate of the distance for Pat, Jesse and Faith.
Pam is still on her training schedule, so she walked 6.2 miles on the trail on Sunday May 4, 2008.

Deborah sent me the following information today.

$1320.00 was the final donation amount the Nameless Walking Team raised for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Thank you to all of the walkers who participated on April 19^th and to all those who made donations. This walk a very successful event for all involved.

For the last week I have been hearing something rustling around in my bushes, I thought it was a cat. I only heard it at night and early morning, I tried to scare it out didn't work. Well, on Friday my son (Kenny was looking out the window and he saw a hawk running around in the back yard, I told him that is what I have been hearing in the bushes, we noticed his wing looked funny. He said we need to catch him before something gets him. So my son put on some thick gloves, long sleeves, we got a laundry basket and a sheet, I pushed him towards him with a broom and he got the basket over him. Then I remembered that a lady I work with her husband traps animals, so I called him and he took him to a rehab place.

I am estimating that Pat, Faith, Jessy, and Drema went to the fountain which would be 2 miles each = 8 miles (If this is incorrect, please let me know and I will make an adjustment to the mileage)

On Saturday we will be over Half way to our "2008 in 2008" !!!! We are an Amazing Group!

Mary was at the mall all by herself for the afternoon walk. We had a nice crowd for the evening walk. On the walk were some really frisky bunnies that were too fast to get pictures of. There was a beautiful spoonbill that Tony got some video of. We all enjoyed having Maria's family with us and hope they keep up the trail walking tradition. Dot and Kathie were the first to see the frolicking rabbits in the pond. By the time Tony was there with the camera the rabbits were on land chancing each other through the palmetto bushes.

We will be back at the trail on Saturday at 7:15 AM on Saturday.
