Here are a few thoughts on the eve of my big walk……………………
I miss:
- Walking for fun
- 20 miles is not FUN, I will be glad to walk on the parkway again
- I almost walked the parkway last week for 10 miles so you all would only have to walk ¼ mile to make the goal, but then I figured you all could handle the 10 miles without me J
- Thank you for all your support and encouragement, you have all in your own ways kept me going
- Counting points
- None of that if you do not eat you will faint, I gave up when I ate a 20 point lunch one day it is too depressing
- Shopping with Deborah
- This is the time of year to catch bargains just before Christmas she is a great bargain finder
- High Heels
- I will be the shortest person in the house in a couple of years you know you are getting old when you have to look up to your kids
- I think if I attempted a high heel I would break my ankle so I will wait
- Life without Advil
- My body is in pain all the time it is not made to walk 20 miles daily
- I thought it was me, but I found out some people take it before they work out all the time, imagine that………….
- Free time
- Training takes at least 3 hours a day this last two months, more on the weekends
- Free time not down time I want to decline party invitations because I don’t want to go not because I am too busy or tired
- Pedicures
- I stopped looking at my toes when I got the first blister, I pity the person that must work on me Monday ( I will not go to work that day I will be at the spa with some of my fellow walkers)
- Thinking about Goal Weight
- When I started I was 6 pounds from goal weight ; I stopped weighting myself when I gained 5 pounds so who knows how far I am now
- Don’t give me the muscle/ fat argument weight is weight and I am far from goal weight
- BUT……I created a new goal I WILL finish this walk and raise money and awareness about Breast Cancer THEN deal with the weight goal next year (no since in starting something before Thanksgiving and Christmas)
I hope to see you all at the party in November,
Pam
